WHAT: Muskie Tournament Fundraiser


WHO: Open to the Public / Limited to the first 100, two angler teams / No single angler teams


WHEN: Check-In: Friday, April 25, 2025 / Tournament: Saturday, April 26, 2025


WHERE: Clear Lake, IA.


TOURNAMENT HQ: Community Center, 4 Weimer Street, Ventura, IA.


TIMES: Check-In: 6:00 pm–9:00 pm / Tournament: 6:00 am-4:00 pm / Awards: 4:30 pm-10:00 pm


ENTRY FEES: $75 Muskies Inc member / $120 Non-Member / $30 Youth 17 & under


AWARDS: 1st $1,000 / 2nd $750 / 3rd $500 / 4th Place 300 / 5th $150 / Longest Muskie $100 / Longest Non-Muskie $25 / Even a prize for the SMALLEST muskie!

TOURNAMENT RULES





1. Tournament Headquarters (check-in & awards) Community Center, 4 Weimer St, Ventura, IA.


2. Tournament Hours:
Check-In: Friday, April 25, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Tournament: Saturday, April 26, 6:00 am - 4:00 pm
Awards: Saturday, April 26, 4:30 pm-10:00 pm


3. Limited to the first 100, two angler teams. For safety, NO single person teams will be accepted.


4. Tournament is limited to entrants only. Pre- registration must be done via heartlandmuskies.org using the Entry Forms page, selecting Spring Tune-Up, no later than 11:59 pm, Sunday, April 20, 2025.


5. Tournament entrants will be provided an official tournament sticker which must be applied to an official measuring device and/or must be visible in the measurement picture.


6. All fish must be caught during tournament hours using legal Iowa sport fishing methods for Clear Lake. Fishing outside of tournament hours is an automatic disqualification!


7. All fish must be released unharmed. Two pictures must be taken with one showing entire fish on the measuring device with tournament sticker visible & another of angler holding fish. Pictures must be shown to the tournament staff by 5:30 pm, April 26th prior to awards ceremony & will become the property of Heartland Chapter 10, Muskies Inc. If both pictures are not presented, entry is disqualified!



8. Point System

A 30” fish will be awarded 4 points. In addition, you will receive 1 point for each inch over 30” measured to the nearest inch. Under ½” round down, 1/2" or over round up. ½” measurements will not be accepted! Tie breakers determined by time of catch. Judgment will be at the discretion of the tournament staff.


9. No alcohol allowed in tournament boats.


10. No live bait. Artificial baits only.


11. Life vests must be worn.

12. All entrants must adhere to all Coast Guard & Iowa DNR safety & fishing regulations, normal angling etiquette & each angler may only fish two lines at a time.


13. Any fish killed by an entrant becomes the property of the tournament Staff until after the awards ceremony. Report incident to Tournament Director & a committee member will come pick up the fish.

14. No unsportsmanlike conduct at the discretion of the tournament staff.


15. Entrant boat must not be tied to shore or dock except in case of emergency or safety concerns. If tie-up is necessary, entrants must not fish!
